Update

Sorry it's been a while since I left a new blog....things have been crazy around here but all is well.

We saw our midwife yesterday and Baby Girl is looking really good. Heart rate was excellent and we're measuring right on time. We have another ultrasound in two weeks, on August 21, to get another good look at things. We'll really start focusing on the cord from that point on, which is what caused us to lose our sweet Audrey. At 26 weeks we'll have a high resolution ultrasound to get a definite look at placenta/cord and then starting at 32 weeks we'll be getting non-stress tests (NST) every Monday and bio-physical ultrasounds each Thursday until she's here (for those of you who are counting that's going in twice a week for approximately 7 weeks....OY.) We'll also have a perinatologist working with us in the second half of this pregnancy with our midwife. I find it a little scary but also reassuring since I feel like we have so many people working with us to ensure we bring our baby girl home in March.

In other news, we are still waiting for ground to break on our new home but we expect it to start next week sometime.

Maddie turns 3 this coming Monday (I can't believe it) and we're off to Disneyland on the 16th for a long weekend at the "Happiest Place on Earth!" She's very excited to ride the Peter Pan ride with TT, the Teacups with Grandad and Pirates with Nana.

One of the positive things to come from losing Audrey is that I've started assisting in our support group, Brief Encounters. (www.briefencounters.org) It is heartbreaking to speak with some of the mothers who call for information after a recent loss as it brings our loss right back to the surface. But I do find some peace in being able to help others manage this pain. At least I feel like I can start to give back and find some meaning for having Audrey. Even though we will soon, God willing, have our third sweet baby girl home with us, she will forever be my angel baby.
